The COVID-19 pandemic has had extraordinary effects on our world and personal lives. Boston College is committed to meeting the emerging and ongoing needs of all our students. Let's come together as Eagles for Eagles to support our AHANA students.
Boston College is rooted in the principle of living in service to others. Your gift today provides resources to the Bowman AHANA and Intercultural Center (BAIC), which supports all Boston College undergraduate students, particularly focusing on AHANA students and students in the Options Through Education (OTE) program who experience high financial need.
During the academic year, the BAIC helps students experience all that Boston College has to offer, regardless of their financial situation. The BAIC provides services from mentorship and counseling, to helping students acquire personal care items, rent laptops, obtain school supplies, and more.
Your support is critical because the COVID-19 pandemic has already impacted many AHANA and OTE students. They no longer have access to the resources at the BAIC and they are missing the consistent, in-person support they usually receive from BAIC staff, University Counseling, Connors Family Learning Center, and other groups.
Your gift to the AHANA Fund could help provide the following:
Travel Resources to provide transportation home for students who are currently staying on campus, as well as transportation and accommodations for members of the Class of 2020 planning to return to campus for graduation in October
Room and Board (Housing) Resources for students unable to return home this summer who may need to pay rent for a sublet, purchase groceries, and pay utilities.
Mental Health Counseling for students who can no longer access the University Counseling Services system, and cannot be supported locally
Critical Supplies such as books and academic supplies, laptops, mobile devices, prescriptions, and medical supplies, for students who lost their jobs or internships this spring and summer
